Why I chose Town and Country over bigger cities

Hey, I work in education and Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. The unemployment rate is 5.5%, which is about average. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Worth the trade-offs?

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely solid and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (South) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
