Just moved to Town of Pecos, any tips?

Hey folks, Just moved here 11 months ago and With a population of 11,485, Town of Pecos is a small town. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 14 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Chicago about 15 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Diverse dining options
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Good luck with whatever you decide..
