Single, 24, work in hospitality. I feel like Tucson is becoming more expensive without getting better.
A friend just bought in Fourth Avenue for K and I'm not sure if that was smart. With a population of 543,348, the city has a {city_feel}.
People here are friendlier than I expected coming from Tampa. Grocery prices are creeping up but still manageable.

OK let me break this down from someone who's been here a while.
Marana vs Catalina Foothills: completely different vibes. Marana is more improving with walkable streets and local shops. Catalina Foothills is affordable and better for couples.
Cost-wise, expect /mo minimum for anything decent in Marana. In Catalina Foothills you can find stuff for /mo.
The food scene in {hood} is honestly incredible.. Honestly the biggest downside is {downside}.

I'll give you a thorough answer since I've been through this exact situation.
I moved to Armory Park from Chicago about 12 years ago. Initially it felt a bit lonely. But after settling in, The parks system here is underrated..
A few things I'd recommend:
- Check out Armory Park and Catalina Foothills for housing
- Explore beyond the popular neighborhoods
- Talk to your neighbors - people are friendlier than you'd expect
The biggest adjustment was traffic. People here are friendlier than I expected coming from {other}.. Overall I'd give Tucson a 9/10 for couples.

Just to add another data point - we moved from San Francisco about 10 years ago. Public transit is {transit_feel} - you'll want a car.. No regrets so far.

Renter's perspective: it's steep but the location is great. I'm in Rincon Heights and it's decent. Definitely shop around though.

Let me give you the perspective nobody asked for but everyone needs.
I've lived in Broadway Village, Downtown, and currently in El Presidio. Each one feels like a different city honestly.
Rent comparison:
- Broadway Village: /mo for a 2-bed
- Downtown: about /mo
- El Presidio: /mo but great
Nightlife is decent if you know where to go.. The key is finding your neighborhood. Once you do, Tucson really clicks. Happy to answer questions.
