Moving from Kansas City to Two Rivers next month

I relocated for work and Median household income is $58,716, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 44--F, so bundle up in winter. The median home value here is around $121,800, which is actually reasonable. Poverty rate is 5.9%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I overthinking this? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in North for 6 years. Moved from Miami for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are reasonable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. North schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not a lot of cultural diversity. Dating scene is rough. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in West area are underrated. Kids love it here.
