We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Highland area are improving. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..
