Union in the winter -how bad?

Hey, We have two kids and Rent is about $847/month for a decent place. With a population of 12,560, Union is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 12,560 people. The median home value here is around $199,100, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Seattle about 7 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Four distinct seasons
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is excellent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Greenfield area are decent. Kids love it here.
