First time home buyer in University of California-Santa Barbara

Been meaning to ask this. With a population of 11,634, University of California-Santa Barbara is a small town. Median household income is $75,000, which feels about average for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation? TIA!

Public transit is tough here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

Moved here from New York about 15 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to cost of living but Definitely worth checking out..
