Is public transit usable in University of California-Santa Barbara?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Just moved here 11 months ago and Household incomes average around $75,000 in University of California-Santa Barbara. Homes are going for about $452,600 on average. It's a a small town city with about 11,634 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
