Honest thoughts on life in University Park

Military spouse here. With a population of 7,109, University Park is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,530 for rent here. Rent is about $1,530/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- High property taxes
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
- Not enough green space

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.
