Moving to University Park with kids -good idea?

First time home buyer in University Park

Hey, Average temperature is around 50--F, so expect cold winters. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Let me know your thoughts. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Military spouse here. With a population of 7,109, University Park is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,530 for rent here. Rent is about $1,530/month for a decent place. We have two kids and Rent is about $1,530/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
