What Upland does better than anywhere else

I'm a college student here and Crime rate is something to consider -Upland sits at 385.0 per 100K. Median household income is $101,407, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,976 for rent here. Rent is about $1,976/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Good schools
- Low taxes

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Cold winters
- Limited nightlife
- Limited cultural events
Has anyone dealt with this? TIA! Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Bought a house here in 2020 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Oak Park area are decent. Kids love it here.

Used to live on the Riverside side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I've lived in The Heights for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- The food scene scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..
