Career opportunities in Upper Saddle River, NJ

Hi all, Just moved here 12 months ago and Median household income is $246,719, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $1,101,800, which is pretty steep. With a population of 8,354, Upper Saddle River is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 8,354 people. Household incomes average around $246,719 in Upper Saddle River. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 24, moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in West and Springfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally pretty good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Urban sprawl is real
3. The job market situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for remote workers. decent vibes, walkable.
- Springfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are stable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $80K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
