Vail is underrated, change my mind

Been meaning to ask this. I've been here for 5 years and It's a a small town city with about 4,729 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Vail sits at 188.1 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Should I be concerned? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Bought a house here in 2020 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 2 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.
