Honest thoughts on life in Verona

Hey folks, I'm single, late 30s, and Rent is about $1,462/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 14,499 people. Poverty rate is 1.4%, which is pretty low. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 9 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I work in healthcare here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is challenging. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
