Moving to Villa Hills with kids -good idea?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm single, late 20s, and The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $339,800, which seems about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Should I be concerned?

I've lived in Riverside for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
- The outdoor recreation scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Came here for quality of life and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The job market is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely tough and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Westside) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in The Heights for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in finance. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 6 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.
