Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a 30-year-old software engineer and Rent is about $1,035/month for a decent place. Median household income is $57,170, which feels about average for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Is this normal for Warsaw? Appreciate any input.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Houston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is average.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.
I've been here 8 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.
