Relocating to Washington, IL -pros and cons?

Hey everyone, Been living here since 2010. Rent is about $1,087/month for a decent place. Median household income is $91,360, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a small town city with about 15,946 people. With a population of 15,946, Washington is a small town. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Weather-wise, the summers are pretty good and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been living here for 11 years and I'd say it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor recreation is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
