Affordable areas near Waterford?

Random thought, Been living here since 2022. With a population of 9,177, Waterford is a small town. Average temperature is around 63--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 11.8%, which is around average. Median household income is $73,092, which feels about average for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The East side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
