Cheapest neighborhoods in Waterford?

Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

We moved here with our family and the quality of life is solid. Schools in Sunset area are decent. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely tough and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (West) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Denver, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I've lived in Westside for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The community vibe scene is solid

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Salt Lake City it's challenging.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Highland for 3 years. Moved from Dallas for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2023 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
engineering is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is decent - we have lakes within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Urban sprawl is real. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And dating scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 6/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
