Curious what people think. You can expect to pay around $1,031 for rent here. Rent is about $1,031/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $163,000 on average. With a population of 1,254, Waterford is a small town. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What do you all think? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Downtown. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

I work in engineering here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2017 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
