Curious what people think. Just moved here 10 months ago and Poverty rate is 14.2%, which is around average. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? Thanks in advance! The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

I've lived in Old Town for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The community vibe scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Minneapolis it's challenging.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

I'm a teacher and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Uptown area are hit or miss. Kids love it here.
