Quick question about Webster City
Anyone else feel this way? It's a a small town city with about 7,769 people. Any advice would be great.

I've been in Pine Hills for 5 years. Moved from Charlotte for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
construction is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is solid - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Can feel isolated. And public transit can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**

**What I love:**
1. Growing food and restaurant scene
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Summers can be brutally hot
3. The healthcare situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The cost of living is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
