Why I chose Welcome over bigger cities

Random thought, We're a young couple and Homes are going for about $164,100 on average. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 60--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Good job market
- Nice parks and trails
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Sprawl everywhere
- Boring for young people
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
Cheers. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to San Diego it's underrated.

I've lived in Westside for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Good internet infrastructure
- The job market scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
