Just moved here 9 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,152 for rent here. Median household income is $33,497, which feels on the lower side for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Denver about 11 years ago. The main reasons were family and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is challenging.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Downtown. It's solid for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Indian.
