West Modesto is underrated, change my mind

Hey folks, I've been here for 5 years and Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. Poverty rate is 18.5%, which is higher than I expected. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Does this match your experience? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Greenfield for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:

- Growing food and restaurant scene

- Close to major attractions

- The cost of living scene is hit or miss

The downsides:

- Property taxes are high

- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
