Moving to West Puente Valley for work -advice?

Random thought, I grew up here but left for a while. Rent is about $2,250/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 65--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if cost of living matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Lakewood area are solid. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
