Best neighborhoods in Wharton

Anyone else feel this way? Just moved here 10 months ago and You can expect to pay around $1,886 for rent here. Poverty rate is 17.5%, which is higher than I expected. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What do you all think? Thanks for reading.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely decent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Uptown) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Dallas, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.
