I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Homes are going for about $348,100 on average. Household incomes average around $92,548 in Wharton. Poverty rate is 17.5%, which is higher than I expected. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts? Looking forward to hearing from you all. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
