Considering Whitinsville vs San Diego -help me decide

Longtime lurker here, I'm a college student here and It's a a small town city with about 7,250 people. With a population of 7,250, Whitinsville is a small town. You can expect to pay around $1,271 for rent here. Median household income is $93,504, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $93,504 in Whitinsville. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The public transit is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 8 years. Moved from Dallas for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Far from beaches/mountains. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 7/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
