Biggest downsides of living in Williams Bay?

Hey, I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $799 for rent here. Household incomes average around $70,568 in Williams Bay. With a population of 2,967, Williams Bay is a small town. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Low taxes
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Poor road conditions
- Limited cultural events
- Not enough green space
People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Houston about 5 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are manageable, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Hope this helps!.

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Riverside area are pretty good. Kids love it here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Cedar Grove for 7 years. Moved from Tampa for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are wild for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Cedar Grove schools are underrated. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Homeless population growing downtown. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 6 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the The Heights side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Boston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Oak Park. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 5 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Italian.

Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Downtown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Lots of new development happening
- The dating scene scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Definitely worth checking out..
