Best neighborhoods to rent in Williamsburg?

Hey, I'm originally from Orlando and It's a a small town city with about 7,400 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Williamsburg sits at 667.9 per 100K. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Is this normal for Williamsburg? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
