Couple moving to Woodlawn CDP (Baltimore County) from out of state

Hi all, Poverty rate is 10.6%, which is around average. Rent is about $1,440/month for a decent place. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Nashville about 11 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is pretty good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Feel free to reach out with questions..
