Why I chose Wylie over bigger cities

Random thought, We have two kids and Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I have mixed feelings honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 2 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from San Diego about 3 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are competitive, gas is excellent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..
