People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've been in Midtown for 1 years. Moved from Dallas for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is average. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.
**Employment:**
marketing is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Dating scene is rough. And dating scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**

I'm a accountant who relocated here from Denver about 1 years ago. The main reasons were weather and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Limited high-paying job options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are manageable, gas is average.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..
