Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 40s, and Rent is about $1,111/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $281,900, which seems about average. Average temperature is around 44--F, so bundle up in winter. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any help is appreciated. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Dallas it's better than expected.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Springfield area are improving. Kids love it here.
