Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Coal City sits at 74.9 per 100K. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Worth the trade-offs?
Not sure if this has been asked before, but Been living here since 2017. Median household income is $73,030, which feels about average for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Any advice would be great.
