My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 15 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in legal. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The public transit is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a teacher who relocated here from Seattle about 8 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Strong sense of community
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is decent.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much reasonable but now it's solid.
