Living in Jacksonville -the reality

First post here. I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 17,490 people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What are your go-to spots?

I've lived in East for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is tough

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..
