Cost of living reality check -Maple Valley

Curious what people think. I'm a 44-year-old physical therapist and You can expect to pay around $2,189 for rent here. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Poverty rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 28,121 people. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Great weather
- Friendly people
- Close to nature
- Diverse community
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Hot summers
- Sprawl everywhere
- Poor road conditions
What would you do? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Hope this helps!.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 14 years here, that's my honest assessment.
