Job market in Maple Valley for tech?

Hey, We're a young couple and Rent is about $2,189/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thanks!

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 35, moved here 3 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in West and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Friendly community, easy to meet people
2. Good schools in most areas
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The school system situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for families. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is manageable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 12 years here, that's my honest assessment.
