Planning a move to Somerset -neighborhoods?

OK so I'm a teacher here and Median household income is $32,910, which feels on the lower side for the area. Poverty rate is 26.5%, which is higher than I expected. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. What would you do? The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Minneapolis about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Feel free to reach out with questions..
